In 1923, Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius commissioned a remarkable set of 20 postcards from renowned artists like Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. These postcards were intended to serve as promotional flyers for the school's inaugural exhibition. Now, for the first time, these rare and invaluable postcards are presented in their original format. Each postcard captures the essence of the early Bauhaus, with artwork digitized using state-of-the-art capture technology and printed stochastically at 100 percent of the original size. With ample space on the back for messages, these postcards become miniature pieces of art, allowing readers to send (or keep!) a precious piece of design history.

The artists who contributed to this collection are: Rudolf Baschant, Herbert Bayer, Lyonel Feininger, Paul Haberer, Doerte Helm, Ludwig Hirschfeld-Mack, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Gerhard Marcks, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Farkas Molnar, Oskar Schlemmer, Kurt Schmidt, and Georg Teltscher.

These postcards offer a glimpse into the vibrant and pioneering spirit of the Bauhaus movement, which profoundly impacted the world of art and design. The bold colors, abstract shapes, and minimalist aesthetic of these postcards reflect the ideals and principles that the Bauhaus championed. By preserving these postcards in their original format, we are able to appreciate the historical significance of the Bauhaus and its contribution to the evolution of modern art.

Whether you are a art enthusiast, a design student, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of creativity, Bauhaus Postcards is a must-have collection. These postcards not only showcase the talent of these renowned artists but also provide a window into the rich history of the Bauhaus movement. So, take a moment to explore the world of Bauhaus and savor the beauty of these rare and priceless postcards.
