In a heartwarming tale of belonging and environmental awareness, a young boy's courage and ingenuity come to the rescue of an orphaned rhinoceros. Tetenya and his mother stumble upon Faru, a baby rhinoceros, alone on the vast savannah. They are aware that rhino sanctuaries would provide a safe haven for orphaned infants, but the task of locating the rangers who safeguard local herds poses a long and treacherous journey. Undeterred, Tetenya embarks on a daring expedition, guiding Faru past towering giraffes, playful vervet monkeys, and scavenging guinea fowl. Suddenly, the danger looms over them as two poachers approach. With mere seconds to spare, Tetenya finds himself relying solely on his wits and a handful of berries to protect his newfound friend.

Author Anitha Rao-Robinson drew inspiration from her transformative experience on the savannah and the innovative methods employed by conservationists to deter poachers. One such method involves injecting a pink dye into rhinoceros horns, making them less desirable to hunters. Award-winning illustrator Karen Patkaus's captivating landscapes mirror her own travels in the region, while her illustrations celebrate the bravery and ingenuity of Tetenya as he helps his four-legged companion find a place to call home.
