Luke is once again called to the penitentiary, though for once, the Daltons haven't escaped. They have, however, just learned that their cousin Emmett, the last survivor of the original Dalton gang, has a son - and that Averell was chosen as his godfather! Now, Lucky Luke has to accompany the dumbest bandits in the West to the young boy's house, as Averell has been temporarily entrusted with his education. A job that his brothers see as an excellent opportunity to get rich quickly.

However, things take a turn when they arrive at the boy's house and discover that he is a genius. The boy's intelligence and curiosity exceed even Lucky Luke's expectations, and he quickly becomes fascinated by the world around him. Lucky Luke, who has always been known for his quick wit and cleverness, finds himself at a loss for words as he tries to teach the boy everything he knows.

As they spend more time together, Lucky Luke begins to see the boy's potential and realizes that he may be the key to ending the Dalton gang's reign of terror. He starts to develop a bond with the boy and begins to see him as a son of his own.

But their happiness is short-lived when the Daltons learn of the boy's existence and come to kidnap him. Lucky Luke and the boy must use all of their skills and wit to outsmart the Daltons and save the boy from their clutches.

In the end, Lucky Luke and the boy are able to outwit the Daltons and save the boy from their clutches. The boy is returned to his family, and Lucky Luke is hailed as a hero. He realizes that his job as a teacher is not just about imparting knowledge, but also about inspiring and mentoring young people.

From that day on, Lucky Luke becomes a mentor to many young people in the West, using his wit and wisdom to help them overcome their challenges and achieve their goals. He is known as the "Educator of the West," and his legacy continues to inspire generations of readers and fans.
