Dr. Watson was the chronicler of Sherlock Holmes adventures published in The Strand magazine between 1887 and 1927. George Newnes, the editor, purged each story before publication and replaced Watsons jocular illustrations with Sidney Pagets more innocuous portrayals. Watson also exposed Holmess family, Mrs. Hudsons property empire, and Professor Moriarty's rise to "the Napoleon of crime".

Dr. Watson, the esteemed chronicler of every Sherlock Holmes adventure published in The Strand magazine between 1887 and 1927, played a pivotal role in capturing the essence of these thrilling tales. With his unwavering honesty and a bold, military-style approach, Watson presented the stories in a frank and unflinching manner, delving into the intricacies of human behavior. However, due to the strict moral standards of Victorian England, these accounts were deemed too risqué for publication. George Newnes, the editor of The Strand, took charge of purging each story before its release. Newnes also replaced Watson's jocular illustrations with Sidney Paget's more innocuous portrayals, ensuring a more palatable presentation for the readers of the time. While Newnes deleted the backgrounds of every character, Watson inadvertently revealed Holmess family: his father, Professor Julian Cornelius Bortzoy Holmes; his wife, Wendy; his sister, Rachel, as well as Mycroft. Furthermore, Watson exposed Mrs. Hudson's property empire and shed light on the enigmatic transformation of Professor Moriarty into "the Napoleon of crime." Some of the new material uncovered in these accounts is truly shocking, even by today's standards.

In Book 2, titled "Mr. Jabez Wilson," Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson embark on a captivating adventure to unravel the mysterious story of Mr. Jabez Wilson. Despite his laborious nature, Wilson possesses a captivating tale that piques Holmes's interest and attracts Watson's attention due to his financial resources. The duo embarks on a journey to the City of London, where they enjoy a lunch with renowned figures such as Oscar Wilde and Thomas Hardy. However, their adventure takes a bizarre turn when they encounter John Watson's Great-uncle Eric in peculiar circumstances.

Through Dr. Watson's vivid and descriptive storytelling, readers are transported back to the era of Sherlock Holmes, where the mysteries and adventures of these iconic characters continue to captivate audiences to this day.
