Scotty, a small Scotty dog, found himself washed ashore on the Isle of Mull, amidst a fierce storm. However, his life took an unexpected turn when a fisherman gifted him an old collar adorned with ancient writings. Little did Scotty know, this collar would transport him on a remarkable journey alongside his best friend, Owl.

Owl, a crotchety old owl with a deep affection for trees, found himself swept away with Scotty on a whirlwind adventure. The collar whisked them across continents, from India to Brazil, and even to East Africa, where new seedlings were sprouting, restoring the beauty of the forests.

Through their travels, Scotty and Owl witnessed the devastating effects of climate change firsthand. They saw the Banyan tree in India, a magnificent specimen that had withstood centuries, succumbing to the changing climate. In Brazil, they encountered the last tree left standing, a symbol of resilience against all odds. In East Africa, they witnessed the hopeful emergence of new forests, a testament to the power of regeneration.

Scotty's story is a poignant reminder that climate change can be both frightening and inspiring. It teaches us that even the smallest actions can make a significant difference in protecting our planet. It encourages us to plant just one seed, to nurture and care for the environment, and to believe that no difference is too small to make when it comes to saving our world.

Conn Iggulden, the multi-million selling author, collaborated with talented illustrator Lizzy Duncan to bring Scotty's story to life. The story was initially produced by the Scotia Group for distribution to delegates attending the United Nations' COP26 climate summit in Glasgow. Conn and Lizzy are thrilled to be working with Little Door Books to expand Scotty into a series that continues to spread the message about the importance of individual actions in preserving our planet.

Scotty's story is an excellent resource for schools and families who are interested in learning more about our world and how to contribute to its protection. It encourages empathy, understanding, and a sense of responsibility towards our environment. By sharing this story, we can inspire future generations to take action and make a positive impact on the world we live in.

As we celebrate World Earth Day 2023, Scotty's journey serves as a reminder that we all have a role to play in safeguarding our planet. Let us embrace the power of small actions and work together to create a sustainable future for ourselves and future generations.
